The Marketing Communications Specialist supports mFoundryʼs Marketing organization in support of the companyʼs communications activities. mFoundry relies on content development to fuel its brand awareness and demand generation efforts. This role is essential to the success of the companyʼs marketing programs. This position is based in San Francisco, but would require regular travel to the companyʼs Larkspur, CA-based headquarters in support of work assignments. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.


Support how we articulate mFoundryʼs branding, messaging and positioning in the marketplace to partners and customers, primarily banking, credit union and financial technology businesses

Work with the Director of Marketing to develop marketing communications materials in support of the companyʼs marketing, sales and business development efforts; supporting a mix of paid, owned and earned media

Help to communicate the companyʼs key messages and story through the development of case studies, white papers, blog posts, press releases and other marketing collateral

Responsible for executing marketing communications programs on deadline across multiple company communications channels, including email, blog, social media and website-based content

Support the tracking, reporting and analysis of marketing performance including trending and key metrics

Manage updates to website content, specific to news, press release, event and product and company information sections

Collaborate with internal groups, including Product, Sales/Business Development and organizational leadership to ensure consistent, integrated messaging execution across all channels

Serve as the internal ʻjournalistʼ for gathering and telling the companyʼs stories across internal and external channels; work closely with Marketing leadership to identify fresh story angles to generate excitement and interest across external audiences, while keeping internal audiences informed on communications strategies and key messages

Ensures all content produced is factually accurate and aligned with company messaging and positioning goals; supports Director of Marketing in management of the companyʼs social media and blogging efforts, including developing posts across these channels

Leads research and information gathering assignments - including conducting surveys, analyzing client and market data, and conducting Internet research to generate quantitative and qualitative data to support communications materials

Keeps abreast of market research, competitive moves and industry trends to provide the organization with fresh news and content ideas in support of the companyʼs communications efforts

Skills and Qualifications

BA/BS degree preferred; Masters degree or equivalent experience a plus

3-5 years Marketing Communications or Public Relations experience - relevant financial technology experience preferred

Demonstrated ability to write proficiently across a variety of marketing communications and public relations applications, including specific experience developing press releases, case studies, white papers, website content, blog posts and marketing collateral (e.g. product brochures, company overviews, executive bios)

Must be a strong, efficient writer and editor - committed to quality, accuracy and consistency and a willingness to comply with branding, messaging and positioning guidelines

Ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working proactively to produce marketing communications and public relations materials with minimal supervision during the draft phase of production

Ability to balance a variety of short-term, deadline-oriented assignments with long- term, strategy-based communications projects

Is flexible and able to deal with frequent changes in priority or direction

Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on environment - working in a 24/7/365 news cycle

Internet marketing experience a plus, particularly in the areas of search engine optimization, blogging, social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn), inbound marketing or online media relations

Ability to conduct interviews with internal and external information sources for gathering information to fuel content development projects

Strong organizational and reporting skills - able to drive, track and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Ideal candidate will have an interest in financial technology and a willingness to learn the mobile banking and payments industry to the full extent of their capabilities

Candidates must be able to provide examples of marketing communications and public relations materials they have produced in support of a business-to-business technology client; relevant, financial technology communications materials preferred
