Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Sales Accountant position is responsible for all accounting phases of the Tahoe Resources Inc. sales revenue cycle including concentrate shipping, invoicing assay exchange, settlements and revenue accounting.

Responsibilities will include:

Prepare budgeting and forecasting revenue and cash receipts

Maintain effective revenue related internal accounting and financial controls (including systems, procedures, and policies)

Ensure revenue accounting records are maintained in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Coordinate internal closing process

Support financial external revenue reporting and reconciliation

Provide management assistance as necessary

Coordinate sales accounting functions and other accounting functions as required

Understand sales contracts and resulting impacts on concentrate production

Maintain accurate records of concentrate shipments and sales

Administer assay exchanges and final settlement of concentrate shipments with customers – smelters and merchants

Invoice customers and tracks cash receipts

Maintain all revenue accounting and receivables information

Perform variance analysis of actual vs. planned concentrate sales

Verify metallurgical accounting information from the mill and lab

Calculate Net Smelter Return

Forecast and coordinate concentrate shipping schedules with customers and Minera San Rafael logistics

Account for and manage related selling expenses

Internal Accounting and Financial Controls:

Continuously monitor and evaluate internal revenue cycle controls to maintain effectiveness and improve as necessary

Maintain continuous knowledge of accounting regulations and principles

Participate in review/revision of SOX documentation

Internal Closing Processes:

Maintain timely closing schedules

Calculate and provide monthly revenue entries to MSR accounting department

Ensure reconciliation of all major revenue related accounts

Network with financial statement users for continuous improvement

Maintain concentrate inventory records

Corporate Growth:

Assimilate new business units into Tahoe's revenue reporting structure

Mentor accountants and financial statement users on analytics for development of business acumen

Mentor employees as to Tahoe’s business practices


Prepare annual operating plan and forecasts of sales and cash receipts using concentrate production and shipping schedules

Support accounting manager in the preparation of quarterly, annual, and life-of-mine budget


Three+ years’ of accounting experience and application of accounting principles

Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred

Demonstrated competent leadership abilities

Able to liaison with operations, logistics and tax management

Proficient knowledge of and experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Proficient user of spreadsheet and database programs (MS Office, Ellipse computer accounting experience is a plus)

Experience in the mining industry is a plus

Bilingual (Spanish) capability preferred

Able to work outside a traditional 9-5 schedule as needed; regular travel to foreign operating locations is required
