Job Purpose: Perform activities required to maintain the instructional integrity of all company instructional products.
Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing review and revision of policies, standards, documentation and processes to insure company products meet minimum standards of excellence and consistency in terms of instructional design integrity.
Create, implement and maintain state of the art learning templates for use within development tools and instructional products.
Define and maintain Instructional Design process.
Define and maintain Instructional Design certification process.
Support ongoing definition, implementation and maintenance of
o Editing standards
o On-line help and documentation systems
o Partnership certification programs and processes
o Company LMS
Determine courseware deficiencies related to instructional design and integrity; coordinate with Field Training Personnel and Performance Management Group to correct deficiencies.
Conduct usability studies and needs assessments as needed to support ongoing development and improvement of Learning
Provide input to new tools and specifications, including interface design; write instructional design specifications for these products as needed.
Collaborate and consult with software engineers and graphic artist to create prototypes of new or proposed instructional strategies and features within and across all business units
Design and deliver presentations and/or demonstrations to internal and external clients.
Act as internal expert consultant to External Development Training staff.
Work Environment / Conditions:
Climate controlled office setting
Master's degree in Instructional design, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Adult Education or related discipline.
Knowledge of Mager's Instructional Objectives mandatory. Knowledge of Keller's ARCS Model, Bloom's Taxonomy, Merrill's Component Display Theory, Merrill's ID Shell Theory highly desirable.
Knowledge or familiarity with visual display design principles highly desirable.
Knowledge or familiarity with Information Mapping, EPSS, GUI/Human interface design principles, and on-line documentation and help systems and software a plus.
Three to five years experience as an instructional designer in a business setting, including experience in one or more of the following areas: video, interactive video, CBT, CD-ROM, multimedia, on-line documentation, help systems, WEB based information or instruction.
Experience with multimedia authoring or development tool desirable.
Background or experience in one or more of the following content areas a plus:
