The role will support the production of all liquid formats (PAB’s, RTD’s, Spirits, Beer, Cocktails, Dairy/Cream, Tomato, Frozen Drinks), pack formats (Glass, PET, Cans, Pouches) and sizes for the NA business. The role will ensure appropriate management guidance and direction across the Supply businesses with respect to Third Party Operations as detailed below: 14.3m cases of production Manufacturing’s combined volume is 25% of North America’s total production volume. Innovation launch of 1.4m cases of new products in F11.
150 sku’s being produced currently across the 10 Third Party Manufacturers 13 Separate Contractual Agreements (100% spend covered with contractual agreements) employing a combination of Toll and Turnkey Financial Models Supplier consolidation and flexibility are key focuses as 3 rd Party Manufacturing aligns with & supports the NA Footprint Optimization that is underway. The Role Holder will be responsible for Functional Leadership within the following areas: Product Quality and Availability, Innovation, New Product Introductions and Market Entries, Business Continuity LTO, Compliance & Ethics, COGS control & initiatives, Work closely with the 3 rd Party Ops Directors & Procurement 3 rd Party Team in developing supplier strategies and priorities for NA. Developing key relationships, monitoring performance, reviewing progress with improvement initiatives, and proactively managing the 3 rd Party Suppliers. Financial $113m in annual spend for the base business. Accountabilities are in relation to managing the flat COGS across NA, support sourcing decisions and minimize T&E costs
Leadership The role will establish a relationship with the 3 rd Party sites and insure a constant supply of high quality finished case goods into the Diageo distribution network at a competitive cost. Will be key to use project management skills to ensure timely delivery of all projects. Needs to be flexible to operate at any site across NA at short notice. Key Stakeholders: SET, BTC, Americas Demand Team, Innovation Team, Procurement LT Purpose By leveraging leadership and functional capabilities in process and packaging technology this role will supply the ongoing outsourced production volume, innovation pipeline, drive cost reduction/value maximization for our product supply, and deliver key strategic initiatives. Accountabilities Delivery of the strategic initiatives that will support improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire manufacturing supply chain and p rovide implementation project management leadership for product roll-out, new brand start-ups and global initiatives. Ensure products launch on time. Ensure Suppliers meet Diageo Corporate standards for Quality and Safety. Outstanding Contract Development and Management Apply Diageo Risk & Environmental Management Corporate agendas. Align 3 rd Party Operations with NA Footprint Optimization for a World Class Supply Network, implementation of the Co-Packer Stable Initiative. Identify Cost Reduction opportunities Qualifications · College Graduate (Science/Engineering/) with relevant post-graduate business a plus. · Supply professional with 10-15 years packaging and process experience, proven track record in innovation launches, finance, business modeling, scenario planning, best practice, and operations · Strong breadth and depth of knowledge of packaging materials, packaging processes, equipment, supply chain, with an ability to access suppliers and to build win-win, value creating business relationships. · Proven functional and leadership skills particularly creating possibilities, proactive attitude and drive for making things happen, challenging the status quo, while at the same time showing diplomacy, tact and humility. Good project management skills/experience.
