The Patient Service Representative manages a patient's positive experience through the facilitation and expertise of problem solving, scheduling, financial assurance, check-in and checkout functions, registration and medical office logistics. You will provide ongoing support for co-workers, patients, families and Penn Medicine processes, perform financial functions to ensure optimal payment for services, and coordinate all clinical and administrative aspects of the patient encounter including the provision and dissemination of information to the patient as required. You will reconcile daily transactions and verify the batch header with the batch proof. In addition, you will coordinate end of day processing for charge entry and cash collection, such as filing the number of encounter forms, cash register, and credit card transactions at the close of day.
The qualified candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, prior experience in a physician environment including experience with third party billing and work in an automated scheduling environment. You must have customer service related experience, be able to demonstrate basic computer knowledge and skills, and have knowledge of IDX and Online EOB systems. Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding, an Associate's Degree in Secretarial studies in Healthcare, and 2+ years of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
