Material Data Manager

The position provides project leadership for the development and management of Material Masters Data. This position manages all staff responsible for entry, creation, deletion, classification, characterization and analysis of materials data. The position will set policies and procedures for Materials Management data across the company. The position will also service requests from Senior Managers in regards to Master data reporting and analysis. This management level position will require direct interface with Materials Experts across the company. Long-term relocation and short-term field assignments are a requirement of this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
•Establish and maintain Materials Master Management policies and procedures and communicate them throughout the organization.
•Enforce Materials Master Management procedures across the organization.
•Manage and train staff entering Material Master list data into SAP.
•Review and evaluate material information provided by District experts for completeness, accuracy, and redundancy based on the business requirement/process.
•Verify that all material masters staff are accurately entering product information in the Material Master.
•Maintain manufacturing specifications in SAP.
•Work closely with key divisional users/experts to understand the products and business requirements and ensure material specifications are accurately reflected in the Master Material List.
•Gather requirements for new classifications and characteristics of material data.
•Maintains and creates classifications and characteristics of material data.
•Provide training and conduct Materials Master Management audits to ensure procedures are followed.
•Document changes and additions for rational or change/add or classes/characteristics.
•Extract Master Data information for analysis and make recommendations to management across the organization.
•Long Term relocation and short-term field assignments will be required.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) and have a general knowledge of database utilization. Knowledge of SAP Materials Management (MM) is preferred. Previous staff management experience necessary. Knowledge of common construction materials a must.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have a BA/BS in business, engineering or equivalent degree and/or a minimum of 5 years experience in engineering and/or construction. Possess knowledge of material management policies.
