The positions are located in Patient Administration under the supervision of the Patient Administration Officer. The primary function of the position is to perform a variety of administrative/clerical support duties, which facilitate the work of the physicians, nurses, other duties related to the support of patient care and treatment such as record keeping, receptionist and the collection of accurate patient data. KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.
Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Immunization screening and annual influenza immunization required. DUTIES:

Performs the duties of a receptionist and greets patients and visitors.

Receives and takes appropriate action on telephone calls.

Provides assistance to patients and visitors as required.

Determines eligibility for service.

Checks patients’ medical records for pertinent data.

Reviews and maintains current patient information/demographic data.

Processes patient demographic data into the automated or manual system.

Identifies and corrects patient data errors.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience. General experience is defined as experience that is typically progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.

Two years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A pre-employment immunization screening is required.

Annual influenza immunization is required.

A favorable ANACI Background check is required.

Occassional overtime, shift work, weekend and holiday work is required for the Groton, CT location.

A pre-employment physical is required for the Newport, RI location.
