Sodexo has an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Air Force Food Transformation Initiative (ATI). The Air Force Food Transformation Initiative is designed to provide Airmen with improved food quality, variety and availability, while maintaining home station and war fighting feeding capabilities. The ATI will include expanded dining facility operating hours, increased food variety and quality, campus-style dining that allows Airmen on meal cards to eat at other non-appropriated fund food and beverage operations, and access to food kiosks.

Ellsworth Air Force Base is home to the 28th Bomb Wing. The wing is part of 12th Air Force, and is overseen by Air Combat command. Ellsworth South Dakota is situated on the northern side of the city of Box Elder, and roughly 10 miles from Rapid City. The base sits amid the breathtaking Black Hills

The position is responsible for training and continued career growth of Air Force cooks in the DFAC (Dining Facility) as well as the satellite unit, the Flight Kiosk. There will be some catering potential in the Dining Facility ans well as special events. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Position Summary:

Designs, supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
