Required Education and Experience:
High school graduation or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Seven years experience in general office, bookkeeping or personnel operations. Working knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation and word processing software programs. Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to plan and organize effectively. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and HSC guidelines.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Five years experience in higher education. FAMIS experience. Accounts payable experience.
Enters and reviews vouchers and requisitions; monitors and reconciles multiple complex accounts; investigates errors on transactions and recommends appropriate corrective action; assists in tracking expenditures on grants; prepares financial reports on grants; maintains purchase order logs. Assists with ordering and purchasing supplies for the College; coordinates activities associated with conferences; assists in making travel arrangements for faculty and staff; prepare travel vouchers. Assists with the creation of clinical affiliation agreements and other contracts; maintains database of clinical agreements. Responds to inquiries from vendors, HSC Finance and Administration; Communicates cash handling procedures; Communicates travel policies; disseminates business information to faculty and staff; composes routine business related correspondence. Assists in the preparation of employee payroll and personnel documents; assists in the review of annual property inventory.
