Under general supervision, perform complex work involved in the processing of Alutiiq payrolls.
This position is responsible for full payroll process for multi-state employer departments with applicable forms and processes.
Position processes regular and supplemental bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for assigned employee groups.
Performs complex payroll calculations, verifies information from revelant forms.
Audits, corrects and balances payroll and a variety of reports.
Compiles, analyzes, calculates and audits information from all relevant information and forms.
Process adjustments and enters information into the payroll system (Cost Point).
Coordinates and reviews employee hours/days on timesheets and researches and resolves discrepancies.
Position works in conjunction with the other Technicians as needed.
Candidate must communicate with employees tactfully and courteously and answer questions in person, electronically and by telephone.
College coursework in accounting.
Three years of increasingly responsible experience working with payroll required.
Must have excellent written and verbal skills as this position coordinates via phone and e-mail with sites, employees and managers.
Must be able to comprehend and perform complex payroll work with accuracy and work under time constraints.
Must be able to make arithmetic calculations, operate office machines, including a computer, 10-key by touch and use computer software.
Must communicate effectively in English and follow and understand oral and written directions.
Must maintain cooperative working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population.
Associates Degree or Payroll certificate (CPP/FPC) preferred.
