The Department

The Group

Investment Consulting Services (ICS) is a team within the Fidelity Financial Advisor Solutions (FFAS) Company. The ICS team functions as an in-house investment resource for Fidelity’s intermediary client base, with a primary focus on supporting due diligence research teams that build multi-asset, multi-manager portfolios for packaged investment solutions. Fee-based wrap programs, 401(k) asset allocation models and variable annuities are examples of such solutions.

The Position

The Vice President, Head of Portfolio Analytics will be responsible for the development and delivery of a service offering to assist FFAS clients with multi-manager, multi-asset portfolio construction and optimization. This individual will partner with other members of the ICS team as well as members of the FFAS distribution team to assist existing and prospective clients with all aspects of portfolio construction and optimization. He/She may draw upon assistance from a team of analysts within ICS, and may hire/manage another quantitative resource. The position is located in Smithfield, RI, and will report to the Senior Vice President within ICS.

Responsibilities

Develop portfolio construction, optimization and risk analytics for existing and potential clients to help them improve risk-adjusted performance.
              Examples of initiatives may include:
              · Develop an optimization framework that will impact clients’ fund selection, asset allocation positioning, and rebalancing frequencies under different macroeconomic environments
              • Present this information to clients of various levels of experience and investment sophistication
              • Develop processes to make the offering scalable across many clients – potentially hundreds – with varying degrees of customization
              • Lead and cooperate with teammates from technology, finance, marketing, sales and other functional areas to develop and deliver the offering

              Qualifications
              Qualifications · 7+ years related experience in portfolio construction and optimization
              · Experience with multi-asset, multi-manager portfolio construction and optimization
              · Experience with client communications
              · CFA and/or advanced degree in finance preferred
              · Entrepreneurial inclination and experience building a team or function preferred
              Skills/Knowledge · Strong communication and writing skills, in particular in regards to translating complex quantitative analysis into relevant and applicable investment solutions
              · Strong ability to think critically and proven record of thought leadership for portfolio construction and optimization
              · Strong knowledge of optimization techniques and their applications for portfolio construction
              · Proficient in the use of optimization tools such as Axioma, Barra, Northfield, Ibbotson, CPLEX or similar software
