The successful candidate is expected to participate in teaching public health students and other health professionals and to develop an externally funded research program in the area related to health policy and management.The appointee will become a core faculty member within OPHS by serving as academic advisor to students and participating on committees in charge of candidates for advanced degrees and will be responsible for planning and the establishment of new graduate programs in this area.This position will also be required to serve on University committees and render service to the professional or lay community as relevant to the individual’s academic specialty.Perform related tasks as assigned.Assistant Professor Minimum Qualifications:Ph.D., Dr.PH., or equivalent in health care management, health care administration, health services research, organizational theory, or related field from a college or university of recognized standing.Demonstrated ability as a teacher and poise and good address for meeting and conferring with others.Strength in management theory and organizational behavior, including human resource management, fiscal management, marketing, systems thinking, and strategic planning.Actively involved in research and demonstrated scholarly achievement.Capacity to work well with others, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to plan and organize assigned activities including supervision of assistants and mentoring students.Associate Professor Minimum Qualifications:Ph.D., Dr.PH., or equivalent in health care management, health care administration, health services research, organizational theory, or related field from a college or university of recognized standing.Demonstrated ability as a teacher and poise and good address for meeting and conferring with others.Strength in management theory and organizational behavior, including human resource management, fiscal management, marketing, systems thinking, and strategic planning.Actively involved in research and demonstrated scholarly achievement.Capacity to work well with others, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to plan and organize assigned activities including supervision of assistants and mentoring students.For Associate Professor level: in addition to the qualifications required at the Assistant level, a minimum of four years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent and potential to establish independent extramurally funded research programs.Assistant Professor Desirable Qualifications:Scholarly accomplishments in health policy and management with an established record in active teaching, research and publication.Demonstrated commitment to creating a climate of teaching and research excellence and scholarly achievements.Knowledge and experience with relevant approaches/methodologies within various disciplines of health care management and administration.Experience teaching in distance education modality.Experience working with diverse multiethnic groups.Associate Professor Desirable Qualifications:Scholarly accomplishments in health policy and management with an established record in active teaching, research and publication.Demonstrated commitment to creating a climate of teaching and research excellence and scholarly achievements.Knowledge and experience with relevant approaches/methodologies within various disciplines of health care management and administration.Experience teaching in distance education modality.Experience working with diverse multiethnic groups.
