Stifel Nicolaus is a full service New York stock exchange member firm.We are seeking qualified candidates for a Human Resources Generalist position in our Baltimore, MD location. This position will provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to management and employees on Human Resources related issues including Employee Relations, Performance Management, Employment Law and Company Polices and Procedures for an assigned business group. Responsibilities include: Managing and addressing employee relations issues Serving as coach/advisor for performance management issues Partnering with management on various workplace initiatives Serving as a resource for employees regarding work-related inquiries including payroll, benefits, career development, etc. Working with recruitment/management during the hiring stage of new employees Conducting new employee/manager orientation Working closely with Compensation to ensure equity internally and within the market Assisting in development of programs/events that build motivation and retention Serving on various committees aimed at the development of employee programs, processes and procedures Training initiatives Performing exit interviews and assisting in the termination process Coordinating various company sponsored functions/events as needed (holiday party, United Way campaign, etc.) Other projects and duties as assigned
Educational Requirements: PHR/SPHR certification and/or Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related area preferred Work Experience: Minimum 5 years HR experience as a Generalist Proven track record of results in a fast changing environment Technical Experience and other Requirements: Ability to influence and negotiate with executives and line managers Excellent customer service/relationship building skills Strong knowledge of state and federal labor laws Thorough analytical skills Good written and oral communication skills Ability to work well with multiple priorities Ability to travel Solid PC/software skills and HRIS systems knowledge required Stifel Nicolaus offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
