Program Assistant (R97580)

The University District, housed at UALR, is seeking candidates for the position of Program Assistant. The Program Assistant will support and coordinate the community outreach efforts of the programs and projects serving the University District, including the University District Partnership (UDP), University District Development Corporation (UDDC) and the University District Educational Network (UDEN). The UDEN administers the Central Little Rock Promise Neighborhood (CLRPN) grant project, which will have special emphasis for the grant period. The Program Assistant reports directly to the Director of the University District Department and also works under the supervision and guidance of UDP, UDDC and UDEN project directors. The University District Department is within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, results-driven, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple projects. A candidate who is able to demonstrate a strong professional interest in community building, youth development and/or systemic change is preferred.

Responsibilities will include: maintaining regular communications with partners, working team members, community members, neighborhood associations, and other major stakeholders of the UDP, UDDC and CLRPN; serving as an initial point of contact for the University District Partnership; work with the UDP, UDDC, and UDEN staff to prepare and implement marketing and communications plans; maintaining and monitoring the University District Department's web presence; coordinating logistics for regular meetings and other public events of the CLRPN Advisory Board, the UDP Steering Committee and the UDDC Board of Directors; responding to requests for information about the UDP, UDDC, and CLRPN; maintaining paperwork, files and databases related to outreach projects of the UDP. UDDC, and UDEN; processing budget documents, including payroll, purchase requisitions, and invoices; preparing and submitting required reports and documents to funders and partners of the UDP, UDDC and CLRPN; working with and supporting the missions of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement and its departments, performing related tasks as assigned. This may include cross-training, team work projects, and/or temporary duty assignments.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required and at least two years of experience, which involved some project or budget management responsibilities;

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and skills. The position is a full-time, twelve-month appointment with benefits.
