We are looking for a Hardware Engineering Intern to join our engineering team in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role you will be a member of the engineering team focusing on the next generation of test applications to deliver key usability and performance improvements over the existing product portfolio.

Performance Objectives:
  • Work in the Engineering Lab on Networking Performance Test Equipment development.
  • Gain experience in the different aspects of hardware product development, including design, test, processes, and tools.
  • Assess basic testing methodologies, Spirent products, and next generation product requirements.
  • A strong support role on a variety of Electronic Hardware / Firmware integration and design support tasks.

    Job Requirements:
    Qualifications:
  • Coursework and experience with circuit board design, including digital logic, analog circuits, and debugging using laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with schematic capture and CAD software tools (e.g. OrCAD, PADS, Allegro, etc.) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of high-level description languages such as Verilog and VHDL is a plus.
  • Telecommunications and networking knowledge is useful.
  • Candidates should have good written and verbal communications skills and be highly organized and self-motivated.

    Education:
    Second or third year of BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree with a GPA of at least 3.0. Fourth year students will also be considered if they are planning to pursue an advanced degree.
