We are looking for a Hardware Engineering Intern to join our engineering team in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role you will be a member of the engineering team focusing on the next generation of test applications to deliver key usability and performance improvements over the existing product portfolio.
Work in the Engineering Lab on Networking Performance Test Equipment development.
Gain experience in the different aspects of hardware product development, including design, test, processes, and tools.
Assess basic testing methodologies, Spirent products, and next generation product requirements.
A strong support role on a variety of Electronic Hardware / Firmware integration and design support tasks.
Coursework and experience with circuit board design, including digital logic, analog circuits, and debugging using laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.) is required.
Experience with schematic capture and CAD software tools (e.g. OrCAD, PADS, Allegro, etc.) is a plus.
Knowledge of high-level description languages such as Verilog and VHDL is a plus.
Telecommunications and networking knowledge is useful.
Candidates should have good written and verbal communications skills and be highly organized and self-motivated.
Second or third year of BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree with a GPA of at least 3.0. Fourth year students will also be considered if they are planning to pursue an advanced degree.
