The Dougherty County Human Resources Department has a vacancy for a Human Resources Specialist I.

TYPING TEST REQUIRED

Essential Tasks:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, coordinating the advertising process to recruit/advertise job vacancies for Dougherty County.

Maintains position classification and control and employee performance appraisals.

Creates HR reports, such as: Position Control, Monthly Vacancy, Notice of Personnel Action forms, salary surveys, etc.

Serves as timekeeper for the HR department and works closely with the Finance Department.

Periodically enters, updates, and maintains employee information in HR/Financial system.

Performs administrative functions which include composing correspondence, updating policies and procedures, and maintaining employee and HR departmental files and records.

Reports to the Human Resources Director.

Minimum Qualification:

Associates' Degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, Human Resources, or Management, with two (2) years of experience in Human Resources; or any related equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the position.

Must be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Requires excellent interpersonal, administrative, and computer skills.

Must pass tying test with minimum 45 wpm and successfully complete pre-employment Word and Excel skills testing.
