Location: North Slope, Alaska
Operates all equipment on job sites including, but not limited to, tractor trailers, vacuum trucks, water trucks, loaders, cranes backhoes, snow blowers, motor graders, bulldozers, compactors and boom trucks.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
§ Must operate many types of construction equipment and hold the appropriate licenses and certificates for the various vehicles that will be used.
§ Must be familiar in the use of a specific type of equipment and the proper procedures associated with the construction project.
§ Must be familiar with proper procedures for road and pad maintenance, grade work, excavation and lifting loads.
§ Must be knowledgeable in safe rigging practices and be able to interpret load charts.
§ May be asked to direct crews in rigging, lifting and loading operations.
§ Carries out and works according to the company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
§ Complies with all safety policies and the applicable safety handbooks, leads and educates fellow employees in safe work ethics, practices and behaviors.
Minimum Education and Experience
A 4 year high school degree (GED) and /or 7 to 10 years of experience or training in the operations of heavy construction equipment preferred. Must have the ability to read and interpret rules, operating and procedure manuals. Must be able to understand work permits systems as they relate to job duties and apply mathematical calculations to loads and rigging requirements
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification and a valid Commercial Drivers License (Class A) with a Hazardous Material Endorsement is required for this position at the time of hire.
Must have a valid drivers license, and will need to meet the company and company's insurers driving policy requirements.
