Project
Parsons is providing base operations support services for a new state of the art campus for a secure agency within the Department of Defense (DoD). Parsons services include: facilities management, operations and maintenance, site and space use planning, safety, health and environmental compliance, engineering, security, emergency management, freight and vehicle management, and custodial care. This is a restricted access facility and employees will be required to have a current DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance with ability to obtain SCI. POSITION OVERVIEW
:
Under general direction, provides on-site technical support for development, implementation and administration of a project safety program.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Conducts management system audits and inspections of work areas, machinery, equipment, and working conditions for compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Reports incidents of non-compliance to codes and standards, participates in root-cause-analysis and the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Follows up to confirm effectiveness of corrective actions.
Ensures the availability, readiness, and proper use of required accident prevention procedures, safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing and devices (PPE), and first aid supplies.
Maintains records of safety audits and inspections, as well as required follow up actions.
Maintains inventory of first aid, safety, and fire equipment.
If properly certified in first aide may function as first aid attendant, providing first aid care to occupationally injured or ill personnel.
Conduct new hire safety orientations, daily safety huddles and weekly toolbox training.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
4-year degree in Safety and Occupational Health (or related field) and 0-2 years of related work experience in the field of Safety and Health.
This position supports a government agency and all candidates must be US citizens. And must be able to obtain an active DoD TS/SCI clearance while on this contract.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
:
Requires thorough knowledge of Federal Safety and Occupational Health Regulations (OSHA 29 CFR 1904, 1910 and 1926). This position requires strong written and verbal communication and the interpersonal skills necessary to work as a member of the team.
