This rolesupports the Process Unit team in the coordinating and planning of all Manufacturing and Packaging Operations for Process Unit activities (logistics, strategic planning, project work, services, resources and budget/costs) in a way that is consistent with a culture of self-direction (empowerment and accountability). Ensures full compliance with quality, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), customer service, statutory, regulatory and Novartis requirements.

Drives continuous improvement in all LEAN Innovation, Quality, Productivity (LEAN IQP) production and other processes/procedures to enable Process Unit performance to remain competitive and compliant. Develops and strengthens the Process Oriented Organization (POO) culture by facilitating and promoting empowerment and accountability. Translates organizational objectives into a strategic plan to enable the Process Unit to plan future activities to deliver all targets. Establishes and maintains a LEAN IQP mentality across unit; run and coach IQP projects utilizing IQP tools and methodologies. Role model in accordance with Novartis Values and Behaviors. Economic management of costs and investments (e.g., by efficient planning and utilization of technical and human resources).

Minimum requirements
Technical/Scientific Degree or pharmaceutical apprenticeship with complementary education (FH, Masters, etc.). English. 5 -10 years experience in the pharmaceutical/chemical industry, prior experience working with multi-functional teams. Past experience working in a self-directed culture a plus.
