Johnson & Johnson Business Services, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently looking for an Energy & Sustainability Manager. The incumbent can be located in Las Piedras, San Lorenzo, Gurabo, Guaynabo, Manatí or Aguadilla, PR.

The Energy & Sustainability Manager will provide the strategic and technical leadership for the development and execution of an Energy strategy for all Puerto Rico J&J Sectors and Operating Companies that will contribute to a favorable environmental impact, reduction in carbon footprint, reduction in energy costs and to support the J&J Healthy Future Goals. The incumbent will lead major projects and provide coordination and oversight to all energy related projects. Develop Energy Management and Sustainability strategies and programs across the J&J Puerto Rico energy portfolio and identify, initiate and/or gain approvals for energy conservation projects to meet all J&J business and goals. Partner with Facilities Management and provides oversight and consultation for all locals to coordinate efforts, share best practices, create standard designs and implement site initiatives. Lead standard energy assessments at all sites. Develop detailed financial analysis and business case for Energy Projects and supports CAR (Corrective Action Requests) Documentation. Lead assigned projects and identify and procures internal/external resources. Develop Energy efficiency roadmap and portfolio of projects required to meet J&J Puerto Rico goals and provides input to site capital planning processes related to Energy. Lead efforts in obtaining allocations of J&J CO2 funding for projects that meet the criteria of corporate funding. Track energy usage at all sites and responds to negative trends. Performs Energy Bills analysis and generates recommendations and challenges if necessary. Report Energy Project Roadmap progress to J&J Puerto Rico Leadership. Develop strategic internal and external partnerships to drive and deliver site self-assessments, retro-commissioning efforts, employee awareness and behavior change programs. Develop a strategic partnership with J&J Worldwide Energy Management to develop and drive programs supporting the procurement of energy. Oversee the implementation of processes and standards utilizing internal and external benchmark data to drive continuous improvement and standardize energy management practices. Collaborate with Procurement in the development and execution of robust Energy Management contracts and processes, and assure all new projects align with energy best practices. Lead risk evaluation of proposed energy reduction strategies (financial, safety, validation, reliability) both for J&J Puerto Rico initiatives and with Service Providers. Ensure sites comply with local, state and federal regulations including FDA, EPA, OSHA, and DEA.


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a major in Engineering is required. A Master's Degree is a plus. Six (6) to eight (8) years of overall experience in Facilities and Utilities is required. Two (2) years of experience managing Energy programs and/or projects is required. Professional Engineer (PE) License in good standing is preferred. Energy Management and/or Project Management Certifications are highly desirable. Knowledge in Energy Management, BAS (Building Automation Systems), facilities management, environmental compliance requirements and, emerging best practices and industry innovations is a must. Must have financial knowledge. Knowledge in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation programs is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills at different Organizational levels, in English and Spanish, are required. Advanced computer skills and use of software application(s) is required including proficiency in MS Office programs. Project engineering capacity with experience reading P&ID's (Piping and instruments Diagrams) and CAD (Computer Aided Design) is required. Demonstrated project management, analytical and contract negotiation/execution skills are required. Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, strategic and innovative thinking, big picture orientation and skills are required. Must be able to lead a team of professionals with diverse skills and competencies spanning business and technical areas in a matrix organization. Proficiency in safety and environmental compliance. Ability to work under time pressure and customer services oriented. Physical requirements of the position include working occasionally in noisy environments near operating manufacturing or utilities equipment. Must be able to independently transport him/herself to various sites within the J&J Puerto Rico Operating Companies. Willing to travel as necessary or required, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel within Puerto Rico and 10% of the time to US. Available to work extended hours. Available to provide on call support after working hours.
