The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the day to day syndication accounting cycle (function), including, supervision and coordination of related tasks, preparation of financial statements, and investment product financial reporting.
This is a senior level position with supervisory responsibility and will perform all required tasks with minimal supervision. This position will serve as a mentor for less senior employees.

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide management and leadership to Syndication Accounting Associates
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for senior management approval
  • Prepare and approve journal entries completed by Accounting Associates
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation of investment accounts and resolve outstanding issues
  • Verify incoming wire receipts related to new investors
  • Daily balancing and report generation of new investments for senior management
  • Gathers data from system for weekly generation of a commission statements to facilitate payment to brokers
  • Complete daily financial compliance and bank reports to meet regulatory due diligence requirements
  • Provide internal and external audit support; including maintenance of necessary support documentation
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as requested (e.g. sales commission)
  • Any other job-related duty as deemed appropriate by management.

Thorough knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures), general knowledge of audit practices and tax calculations.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment; to review problems of a complex nature, break the problem down into simpler terms and determine a solution; to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing); to motivate and direct employees in a desired direction or toward an expected outcome

Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting and/or database management software
Education, Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor degree at accredited University/College
  • 5+ years’ accounting experience; oil and gas, financial services and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA designation preferred
