ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Political Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications from well-qualified individuals for a Faculty-in-Residence position. This position is a full-time (9 month), non-tenure track appointment that will begin in Fall 2013. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Nevada Constitution, Introduction to American Politics, U.S. Strategic Intelligence, National Security Policy, Honors-Exploring American Government, and occasional upper-division Political Science honors courses. Other duties include serving as coordinator for part-time and graduate student instructors in Nevada Constitution and Introduction to American Government courses, and evaluating textbooks and curriculum materials. Additional department service may be required as necessary. The standard teaching load for Faculty-in-Residence position is four courses per semester.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Political Science (or an affiliated field) from a regionally accredited college or university; a minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching courses such as: Nevada Constitution, Introduction to American Politics, U.S. Strategic Intelligence, National Security Policy, Honors- Exploring American Government, and upper-division Political Science honors courses; evidence of excellence in teaching; a successful record in coordinating instruction for part-time and graduate student instructors in Nevada Constitution and Introduction to American Politics courses; and experience in evaluating curriculum materials.

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
