Responsible and accountable for operating and maintaining building utility systems and plant operations equipment for The Bellevue Medical Center facilities and satellite clinics in order to maintain a reliable, safe and cost effective facility.
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of three years mechanical experience around machinery and/or engines required. Valid driver's license is required.
Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with tools arid test instruments required; Knowledge of plant operations (e.g., heating systems, cooling systems, ventilation systems, electrical systems, medical gas systems, sanitation systems, potable water systems, and other building utility systems and plant operations equipment, etc.) required. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems and make decisions while working in stressful situations required; Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including the capability to comprehend equipment instruction/service manuals and drawings required. Ability to perform routine maintenance functions required; Basic computer skills required. Hand tools, power tools, hoists, ladders, and other maintenance equipment, etc. Sheet metal sheer and brake; metal lathe; power band saw; drill press, bench grinder; pipe cutter & threader; bearing press; etc. Test equipment (i.e., pressure gauge, flow meter, anemometer, digital voltage/ampere meter, chemical measurement equipment, etc.). Computer/terminal, equipment maintenance software and building control system software. Programmable equipment control systems (i.e., variable frequency drives, pneumatic tube system, automatic transfer switches, fire alarm systems, elevator systems, chemical feed systems, etc.). Two-way radio. Blue prints, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and pneumatic control schematics and diagrams. Equipment operator and service manuals. Technical parts catalogs. Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance functions and possesses strong written documentation skills required.
Electro/mechanical experienced preferred. Formal education in a vocational or trade school specifically related to plant maintenance preferred. Third Grade Engineer training preferred. Knowledge of welding and brazing equipment preferred. Occasional use of trucks and miscellaneous vehicles preferred.
