Performs scientific work and a variety of laboratory procedures requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, methods and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related scientific tasks under general guidance. Conducts experiments, some diverse in scope. Conducts and interprets data. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work when less common or proposed methods or procedures are necessary. Is expected to detect problems in using standardization procedures because of the condition of the sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc. May conduct scientific phases of a project for a more experienced scientist.

Education, Training and Experience:
