The iCAN Assistant Project Manager is jointly responsible for the iCAN (Career Achivement Network) Project. iCAN is a Microsoft SharePoint application for building career path options and facilitating career discussions for employees with management. The iCAN Assistant Project Manager coordinates all project management under direction of the Training and Development Program Manager. This position must work well with a dynamic and frequently changing business environment while asking relevant and insightful questions to gain full understanding of issues. Responsibilities frequently exceed authority. Shares primary responsibility for all aspects of the iCAN career development project, both business and technical. Will work closely with the IT department and ensure timely and accurate implementation. Will be essential during training and testing of system updates and continuing marketing efforts. Must be able to conduct focus groups with employees with little oversight from management and integrate market feedback. Must possess excellent communication skills including influencing and managing conflict. Point of contact for UTC employees, directs interested parties to appropriate levels within team and organization. Assists the development, implementation, and maintenance of iCAN tools and processes. Prepares and occasionally delivers reports to team, business, and senior management. Participates in design meetings, coordinates schedules and activities, and tracks project metrics. Coordinates ACE and knowledge management activities and events, in-person, by telephone, and online, including arranging for event space and food. Works with cross-functional teams including subject-matter experts across Supply Chain, UTAS, UTC, and contractors. Represents the views of all stakeholders, including employees, managers, and contractors from multiple organizations. Requires solid project management, analytical, and employee-engagement skills. Responsible for identifying and managing project risks and frequently addresses gaps directly. Trains employees across company on iCAN use and may be required to assist understanding of any and all aspects of project, whether business or technical. Frequently uses advanced skills in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with lean practices, concepts, and language is a plus. Travel could be required. Travel would be less than 10%.
Enrolled in an accredited institution for a Master's or MBA.
Must possess a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Experience in Word, SQL, PowerPoint required.
Experience in Outlook, Excel, SharePoint needed.
Must be US Citizen.
Must be able to perform a full time co-op position -this is not a summer internship.
