The Release Coordinator assists the Release Control and Validation Manager (RCVM) in managing an ITIL based Release Management Process. Position is on the JRDC program at Schriever AFB, CO. or Huntsville, Al.

The RCVM Release Coordinator is responsible for assessing release readiness, quality and protecting the stability of the production environment. Provides coordination and direction to IT teams to ensure successful implementation of one or more changes of moderate to high complexity. Assists Change Management in the assessment and processing of change requests. Provides release leadership to drive cross-functional and cross-departmental teams to ensure efficient methods for release management are in place. Utilizes excellent organizational skills for managing, sequencing and scheduling of tasks and activities with an emphasis on coordinating work as well as release process compliance. Actively contributes to the overall JRDC IT Services team by having a willingness to help others in their duties when the need arises and offering positive suggestions for improvement in all areas. Transfers expert level knowledge to project teams with respect to the Release and Change Management processes. The key goal of Release Coordinator is to use standardized methods and techniques in the preparation, building, testing and implementation of changes with minimal impact on the business. Maintain ongoing information concerning all Releases throughout the Release lifecycle including: updates of information about specific Releases, closure of Release records and tracking of Releases through the stages within the lifecycle. Works with Change Management to ensure Releases are entered on the Forward Schedule of Change. Assists in the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives. Produce Release Management reports. Coordinate training schedules and plans with specific requirements of Releases. Produce and maintain appropriate communications to all stakeholders regarding Releases. Administrative support to the RCVM and the process (e.g. scheduling meetings, logistics, sending out notifications of meetings, etc.). Participates in Lead Operational Readiness Reviews for Releases.

Candidate must have an MS degree in an Engineering or IT technical field with of 5+ years related experience and at least three years of management experience. (Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.) Candidate must have a strong knowledge of JRDC financial management and EVMS. Must be able to successfully multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well within, and lead a team environment, have strong interpersonal skills, and have a positive, can-do attitude.

Knowledge of JRDC proposal process, contract management and budget practices is highly desirable. PMI certification is highly desirable. A strong systems engineering, project management and Missile Defense knowledge background is valuable as well. Current TS clearance or the ability to obtain one.
