The Sr. Brand Designer actively lives GSW’s vision for the role of design by creating solutions that maximize the impact of the brand. He/she actively collaborates with the core team, under the leadership of the Design Director, to fulfill the creative vision for the client. The Sr. Brand Designer works closely with the Associate Design Director to own and maintain design standards and create on-brand design solutions that achieve the strategic goals for the brand. As a senior team member, the Sr. Brand Designer is expected to create and protect brand equity through design choices that meet the business needs of the brand.
Description of Duties
Creates innovative design solutions – applies brand hallmarks, identity and guidelines
Applies Design Theme to ensure design consistency across multiple touch points
Collaborates to explore and execute Brand Architecture
Challenges the creative team to develop best-of-class solutions
Works with ADD to leverage new approaches and design tools for the client team
Actively aligns team to decisions that affect work outcomes
Uses design vocabulary to advocate design
Effectively works within budgets and timelines – understands talent to task while delivering innovative design solutions
Proactively and willingly helps other Studio Members to succeed – provides information as needed
Minimum Requirements
Education
Combined degree and design/industry experience of 6 years or more
Skills
Understands the role of Brand Architecture – able to develop BA solutions
Understands Design Theme – able to explore Design Theme solutions
Expert in information design knowledge and application
Recognized by professional peer group as a design leader – awards and/or publications
Understands the appropriate use of software programs in developing design solutions – is proficient in two or more software applications
Asks questions to effectively identify the design challenge and the brand vision
Actively establishes the appropriate timeline for delivering stellar solutions
Seeks to understand client dynamics from Account Team
Voices opinions at the appropriate time
Contributes solutions beyond what is expected
Strives to develop the best work, self-edits to present quality versus quantity
Creates unique and ownable positioning for the brand
Solutions reflect message strategies and hierarchies
