___________________________ The Aging and Disability Services Administration (ADSA) is within the Department of Social and Health Services and assists adults with disabling conditions due to aging, disease or accident. We also assist children and adults with developmental disabilities to gain access to the high quality, cost effective supports that they need. ADSA is structured into four divisions to provide specialized services. This position is within the division of Home and Community Services (HCS). HCS plans, develops, determines eligibility for and provides long-term care services to meet the needs of persons with disabilities and the elderly, with priority attention to low-income individuals and families. HCS team members work together to create positive and rewarding work environments that support the agency mission, professional growth, training opportunities, benefits and variety of tasks. The successful candidate will be a member of our team, working with diverse staff, clients and outside agencies and will work with close to general supervision.

The Home and Community Services Social Service Specialist 3 is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team working within diverse populations to ensure that people who need long term care services, receive them. The Social Service Specialist 3 works in collaboration with peers, community nurse consultants, financial workers, and community partners. This position offers a standard Monday -Friday work schedule, competitive salary, a combination of office and field work, and continuing education opportunities. It also allows for creative utilization of social service skills and the ability to impact and influence the development of our community long term care system. As a Social Service Specialist 3 you will work in an integrated health and social service model, with diverse populations, and one that allows for independent and creative problem solving. Required Position Specific Qualifications: All candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or a related field AND One year as a Social Service Specialist 2 (formerly Social Worker 2) since July 1, 1988 or three years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2 (formerly Social Worker 2). OR A Master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field and two years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Worker 2. NOTE: A two year Master's degree in one of the above fields that included a practicum will be substituted for one year of paid social service experience.
Must have one year of paid experience completing comprehensive assessments and development of individualized service plans for the elderly and disabled adult population including determining the level of care to include care needs related to medical, dementia, and geriatric mental health treatment and interventions.
