Senior Administrative Assistant, Annual Fund

SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, ANNUAL FUND, Alumni Association, to perform diverse and complex administrative tasks for the director of the MIT Annual Fund and the director of Leadership Giving. Will independently oversee organizational efficiency for the Annual Fund group, including basic office training for all administrative assistants; create and update manuals and procedures related to Annual Fund office operations; anticipate and initiate actions regarding office operations which requires in-depth knowledge of the Institute and other departments; serve as liaison to staff and alumni and take ownership in solving problems and answering questions on behalf of the director of the Annual Fund in support of fund-raising activities; assist in planning Annual Fund board meetings and agendas and serve as a point of contact for its board members, emailing updates and information prior to meetings; create statistical reports of Annual Fund results; compose and edit correspondence to donors and prospects; and manage the distribution of reports to staff in the Alumni Association and Resource Development.
REQUIREMENTS: at least five years of related experience; strong administrative, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills; an aptitude for numbers and analysis; detail orientation; ability to set priorities and handle diverse tasks concurrently in an active environment; good judgment; initiative; accounting experience or willingness to learn; strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A bachelor's degree and knowledge of desktop publishing and databases preferred. Direct experience in development or alumni relations highly valued. MIT-00009405-6
