Will make a pivotal contribution to the overall program / brand strategy for a large/heavyweight program (with cross franchise activities, multiple indications) or for multiple programs, or manages overall Franchise BD&L activities. Will then drive the creation, approval and execution of the integrated project plan of one or more development programs or brands under the strategic guidance of the Global Program Head (GPH) or the Global Brand Director (GBD).
Project Management:
 A demonstrated leader and expert in project management tools/processes guiding GPT/GBT to come in on time, budget and target.
 Runs sub-GPT/GBT meetings independently or chairs GPT/GBT meetings.
 Contributes shaping the overall program/brand strategy with regards to content and especially feasibility considerations.
 Chief counsel to GBD on development operational issues
 Participate ad-hoc to sub-Teams meetings
Planning (Contract Book):
 Responsible for translation of the GPT/GBT strategy into an optimal development plan and its implementation for one or more programs / brands. Lead all cross-functional discussions to maintain an optimal development plan (participate in sub-team discussions, critical path analysis, scenario acceleration plans).
 Identify issues and risks within plan or deviations from plan proactively.
 Accountable for quality and accuracy of Contract Book and Succeed plans.
 Understands financial valuation (NPV) and can challenge assumptions made by line functions.
 Oversees program budget/spending on a monthly basis, feedback to GPT/GBT & Franchise, supports the Team in prioritizing activities.
 Able to see a complex program from a "big picture"/strategic level; able to communicate a clear vision for this program and able to set direction for the team; champion innovation and drive teams to decisions.
 Fully autonomous and able to fully deputise for GPH / GBD on reporting on program progression / issues and is responsible for all communications / presentations to development leadership (IFB, DLT, IMB).
 Able to set directions for the GPT/GBT and drive LF teams / GPT/GBT to decisions.
 Lead scenario generation and contingency planning for the integrated development plan.
 If applicable, liaises with NIBR on early phase programs, and/or is an active participant at DADBs.

Minimum requirements
Education and/or professional experience:
Doctoral degree preferably in life science and business management training or experience
Fluent English (oral and written)
Experience / Professional Requirements:
 10+ years experience in a multidisciplinary environment or in line function (drug development)
 Profound knowledge of global drug development process
 Advanced-level knowledge of basic or translational/clinical science
 Capable of managing multiple programs / brands
 Advanced planning and tracking skills with attention to detail including experience with project management and tools (eg MS project).
 Well-organized, excellent time management with respect to priorities and self-management
 Strong interpersonal skills and expert team player with demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships
 Quick action taker. Involves the right team members in the right situation at the right time.
 Expert verbal and expert written communication skills
