Registered nurses are committed to improving the health of the individuals and communities we serve, especially those who are poor or vulnerable, supporting our mission in all aspects of their professional practice.
This practice includes direct care activities as well as acts of delegation, coordination, and collaboration, and encompasses all aspects of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
The registered nurse is accountable for the quality of nursing care that their patients receive and for the conformity of that care to nationally, regionally, and locally accepted standards of care and best practice.
Minimum Education, Licensure, Certification and Experience Required.
Education & Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Associate degree in nursing.
A level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the attainment of a degree as noted above.
No experience required.
Current RN license by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for
Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association..
Successful completion of the Basic EKG course within six months of hire (if previous experience in EKG rhythm recognition, may validate competency through completion of the course test).
Basic computer skills.
Assessment & judgment skills necessary to
a patient’s condition and to utilize the nursing process in planning and providing comprehensive care to
patients and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions.

Exceptional communication skills.
Bachelors degree in nursing.
One year of full-time experience in a medical/surgical department setting within the previous 18 months.
Specialty certification in area of practice.
