We are conducting a Medical Director search on behalf of Lumeris, a high growth, private equity backed technology company headquartered in St. Louis. Lumeris is part of EGHC, which reported $450M in revenue and operated for over 10 years under the name Essence Healthcare, a 4.5-star rated Medicare Advantage plan covering 40,000 lives.
The company recently raised $70M from investors including Passport Capital, Camden Partners and Blue Cross Blue Shield Venture Partners to take its technology platform nationwide to health plans, hospitals, and physician clients looking to transform their organizations into high-performing accountable delivery systems.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director will work collaboratively across a matrixed, entrepreneurial culture to provide clinical and population management expertise to Lumeris clients in the implementation and optimization of its technologies and processes. The position will provide direction to case management, utilization management, and quality management teams within Essence Healthcare as needed in order to achieve a balance between clinical quality and financial goals. The Medical Director will also participate in ongoing product development activities and in the execution of strategic growth initiatives across all operating companies.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
M.D./D.O. with Board Certification and an active, unrestricted medical license.
Minimum of five years of successful clinical practice experience.
Minimum of three years of health plan experience as Associate Medical Director or Medical Director.
Knowledge of healthcare financing and its relation to various managed care products.
Knowledge of continuous quality improvement theory and practice.
Prior consulting experience as well as involvement in EHR implementation highly desirable.
High level of energy and drive.
Ability to relocate to the St. Louis area is required.
Domestic travel required approximately 35%.
