Digital Marketing Specialist

General Description of the Work
The Digital Marketing Specialist will increase the message and ministry of Portland Rescue Mission by creating excellent online user experiences, and communicating digitally the full heart, depth and unique facets of the Mission’s ministry. This position requires excellent written communication skills, familiarity with HTML / CSS , and high attention to detail.
Develop rich, engaging content for monthly e-news. Complete layout, proofing and scheduling.
Create and send monthly e-appeals to donors using variable data and tweaking of existing PHP code.
Set up related landing pages and donation forms.
Work with Gift Processing team to maintain accurate records in email database
Track response data and donations for all e-mail marketing, report on trends, suggest improvements to improve performance and revenue
Work with outside vendor to develop mobile-friendly responsive design for email communication and related landing pages.
Manage Google Adwords account, track analytics, report on trends, suggest improvements to campaigns
Manage other digital marketing initiatives (Facebook ads, YouTube ads, etc.) and track analytics
Maintain up-to-date information on third-party websites (Google maps, GuideStar, etc.)
Work with other Development team members to ensure regular and timely postings of content on social media and other websites
Stay current with trends in digital marketing, offer insight into new opportunities
Identify and resolve website functionality issues (WordPress). Work with outside vendors to provide new website features and revisions.
Manage scheduled content (new videos, blog posts, banner ads, etc.) to ensure timely delivery
Work with all Mission staff to maintain current content and develop needed features
Create landing pages for e-mail and social media marketing. Set up related donation forms, QR codes and friendly URLs.
Improve website SEO performance
Use Google analytics to report on trends, suggest improvements to improve performance and revenue
Establish multi-author WordPress environment with approval workflow
Manage and improve mobile-friendly version of website
Assist in development and maintenance of other Mission websites (e.g. Shepherd’s Door Children’s Center)
Work as a member of the Development Team led by the Director of Development.
Embrace the Portland Rescue Mission ministry culture.
Serve a minimum of two hours per week in a direct ministry capacity at one of Portland Rescue Mission’s ministry centers to develop and enhance culture of hospitality.
Provide input as part of the Development Ministry team to improve overall performance in Portland Rescue Mission’s donor relations efforts.
Lead or collaborate with others, across departments and within the Development Ministry team to gather complete research needs and share ownership of finished work.

College degree in related field or experience equivalent.

Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS . Knowledge of PHP and Java is desirable, but not required.
Experience in Google Analytics, Google Adwords and search-engine optimization desired, but not required.
High comfort level with computers, printers and technology.
Experience in Microsoft Office software.
