This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:1. Develop and implement production/processing methods and controls that are cost efficient, improve efficiency, and meet quality standards.2. Perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, production equipment (including automation), and machining and assembly methods.3. Prepare cost-justification of various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.4. Review proposals of outside vendors regarding purchase of production/processing equipment.5. Conduct capacity studies to address capacity issues and propose cost-effective solutions.6. Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems.7. Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of processes and related equipment, and buildings.8. Recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.9. Monitor assigned operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards.10. Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specifications and other documents.11. Confer with management, engineering, sales, and other departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, product design, tooling, and other considerations to facilitate production processes and ensure efficient production methods and quality results.12. Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques and apply Six Sigma problem-solving for continuous improvement.13. Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams.14. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering• Two plus years of manufacturing engineering experience with emphasis on machining operations• CAD, AutoCad, and Solidworks proficiency a plus• CNC machine programming. A solid understanding of milling and turning additional skills in gear generation and threading are preferred.• Understanding of mazatrol and Camworks software a plus.• Knowledge of ladder logic and PLC programming a plus.• Proficient in tool design• Basic understanding of phenumatic, hydraulic fixturing systems and proficient in automation and robotics a plus• Solid understanding of gear manufacturing processes• Project Management: ability to organize and manage multiple products through manufacturing process• Quality orientation and high attention to detail• Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees• Experience working with high performance teams, a strong team player and a strong team leader• Ability to maintain safe work environment• Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles/techniques (Kaizen, Setup Reduction, Poke Yoke, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, etc.)• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including oral, written, and presentation skills) to effectively communicate with management team, as well as all internal and external customers• Computer proficiency: Microsoft products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.• Knowledge of computer networking; managing DNC network a plus.• Planning: ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span• Exemplify the value system of RBC, with strong focus on moral leadership, competitiveness, self/employee development, and accountabilityDesired Qualifications: Six Sigma Certification and experience with robotics
