The School of Library and Information Management (SLIM), Emporia State University, seeks a full-time director for its Central Kansas Master of Library Science (MLS) Program, located at the Emporia, Kansas, campus. SLIM’s MLS program is offered as a 36-credit-hour professional degree program that delivers both face-to-face and online instruction. The Central Kansas MLS program director is responsible for providing academic and professional guidance to master-level graduate students and for the MLS program’s student admissions, enrollment, and advising. The program director also provides logistical support to faculty and students when classes are in session. In addition, the program director is a representative of SLIM to the Kansas professional library community and is expected to attend professional meetings and conferences throughout the state.
Qualifications include a master’s degree, with an MLS preferred. It also requires in-state and occasional out-of-state travel throughout the year. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in distance and/or non-traditional education programs.
