The College of Pharmacy Centralized Business Operations unit seeks an outstanding professional to oversee payroll and human resources activities, serving as the relative subject matter expert. With primary responsibility for the preparation and processing of college-wide payroll disbursement activities, this individual will function with a high degree of independence and is required to have considerable initiative to plan, prioritize, organize and streamline payroll operational details for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities also include the coordination of efforts between the college's departments and centers with payroll, employment, and compensation while ensuring proper document flow and maintenance of employee data. Oversees the immigration affairs as applicable to college personnel (faculty and staff) and conducts and executes all immigration visa requests. Will design, implement, and monitor (in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer and Unit Administrative Officer) an effective system of controls for subject matter related activities, including section content for the College of Pharmacy's (Business Administrative Manual, effectively communicating payroll/HR policies and procedures. The individual will provide excellent customer service to all faculty, staff and students of the College of Pharmacy and members of the community both internal and external to the University.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Qualified applicants will demonstrate proficient working knowledge of personnel, payroll and compensation processes; the ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; the ability to develop, interpret and advise faculty supervisors, staff and students on payroll, employment, and compensation policies and procedures; ability to utilize critical thinking skills for problem solving; excellent communication skills: written, verbal and non-verbal; ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job; provide excellent customer service skills, and function as a team player.

Preferred Education / Experience

Preferred applicants will also have working experience with technical software such as SAP, Online Employment System, FES and Faculty Database.
