McGraw-Hill Higher Education is looking for a Sponsoring Editors for their Calculus/Physics group. This position will be based in our Dubuque, IA office.
The Sponsoring Editor is responsible for the acquisition, development, and publication of books and other instructor support materials. They are responsible for achieving editorial quality and profitability for each title published under his/her sponsorship.
This brand manager position is responsible for portfolio management - print and digital. They have direct oversight of brand-level development including market analysis, project analysis, product acquisitions, author management, project management, and content editing for core print, digital products, and supplements. This brand manager will manage our Calculus and Physics lists, including the launch of a new 1st edition in Calculus by McCarthy/Jacobson, a 2nd edition launch of University Physics by Bauer/Westfall, and other related titles. It also will manage the Connect algo engine for Calc/Physics.
Work with all appropriate company personnel to guide the timely and profitable publication of completed manuscripts
Supervise the training and job performance of development staff
Work with senior editorial management to develop short term and long term goals for the publishing program
Maintain and strengthen working relationships with authors through frequent contact.
Minimum of three years relevant experience - in acquisitions, sales, or marketing
Excellent analytical, financial and communication skills
Proficient level experience with MS Office, MS Windows and the web.
Strong organization skills.
Excellent time management skills.
