The Board employs a Chief Executive Officer who is delegated the authority and responsibility necessary to operate the hospital in accordance with the policies established by the Board.

MCCH medical staff is appointed by the Board of Trustees to practice medicine within the hospital. The medical staff has formed by-laws, rules and regulations and established officers and committees responsible for the quality of medical practice in the facility.

Job Skills/Requirements
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is the senior physician assuring the overall integration and coordination of medical care of the organization by providing expert knowledge and perspective to the Administrative team.
The CMO provides leadership regarding utilization review, clinical informatics, risk management, infection control, safety and clinical outcomes and is at the forefront of promoting exemplary patient care. The CMO is an advocate for MCCH's medical staff and physician groups - ... [more]
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is the senior physician assuring the overall integration and coordination of medical care of the organization by providing expert knowledge and perspective to the Administrative team.
The CMO provides leadership regarding utilization review, clinical informatics, risk management, infection control, safety and clinical outcomes and is at the forefront of promoting exemplary patient care. The CMO is an advocate for MCCH's medical staff and physician groups - ensuring appropriate resources for all. This position provides support in the development of MCCHs clinical quality agenda, including consistent service goals and performance standards, management of patient census, measurement and improvement of clinical outcomes and dissemination of best practice standards and protocols. The CMO must be responsive to the concerns and necessities of medical officers, department chairs, physicians organizations and administration.

Requirements:
Advanced degree (MD or DO) and be eligible to practice in Kentucky.

Board Certified in an ABMS or AOA approved specialty.

At least six (6) years of medical management or clinical leadership experience and a track record of performance in a medium to large-size hospital system.

Demonstrated experience navigating teams of contrasting interests through projects requiring collaboration, open communication and persuasion.

Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) PREFERRED.
