The Human Services Department is seeking a professional to provide direct supervision to the paraprofessional staff and social workers in the Chemical Health and Justice Sanctions Section of the Human Services Department. The primary responsibility is ensuring staff are adhering to the guidelines established by the section and the department. Supervision includes intake, assessment, case planning and case management, the court process and assigned related programs. As a supervisor, this position provides administrative direction, case consultation and professional development of assigned social workers and other assigned staff. It is responsible for ensuring continuity and effectiveness of the Unit’s services in conformity with the section and agency’s policy and procedures. The position requires some evening and weekend hours as staff being supervised work those hours.
Hours of Work: Core hours of position are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. As a salaried position, hours will often extend beyond the core hours. This is a 37.5 hour work-week, which is full-time.

Provides supervision and administrative direction for assigned social workers who provide intake, assessment, case planning and case management, and on-going direct services to adults referred by the court, other Human Services Sections, or community partners. Ensures staff effectively employ a strength-based approach utilizing evidence-based and best practices. Provides supervision and administrative direction to a team of specialists responsible for the electronic monitoring program, drug and alcohol testing, and other assigned tasks. Responsible for hiring, supervision, training, motivation, evaluation, discipline, scheduling and layout of work of departmental personnel. Provides ongoing consultation to staff on cases and the need for agency and community services appropriate for that population and to ensure continuity and the effectiveness of services in conformity with state laws and mandates and with agency policy and procedures. Reviews and approves assessments, case plans, and other required reports and documentation in compliance with the current agency policy, state standards, evidence-based and best practices. Coordinates, monitors and evaluates contracted program outcomes. This includes monitoring the budget, yearly report, statistics, and consultation. Prepares required statistics and reports for the Health and Human Services Board, committees and other agency units as requested. Prepares grant proposals and other funding requests to be submitted to local, state and federal funding resources. Participates in review and development of agency program, policy, and procedures. Serves as agency representative on community committees and service-related activities. Develops new service programs to meet client needs.
Training, Experience and Other Requirements:
· Master’s Degree from accredited college or university in Social Work or counseling related field.
· Two years social work experience with services to corrections, mental health, substance abuse, or domestic violence, with emphasis on evidence based practice.
· Or, five years social work experience in corrections, mental health, substance abuse, or domestic violence may be substituted for advanced degree.
· May consider other equivalent combination of training and experience.
· Preference is given to persons with an advanced degree and progressive case practice and experience.
