The Junior Recruiter – Temporary assists with administrative support related to recruiting activities such as marketing, search, screening and interview-related tasks in addition to other related administrative work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative/motivation, cooperation/relationships, problem analysis/discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral/written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability/dependability, flexibility and ownership/accountability of actions taken.
Advises managers on outreach and recruitment strategies, including the placement of advertisements in appropriate publications and the appropriate use of recruiting firms for specified positions.
Assists with the development of requirements for these activities.
Engages in retained or targeted searches for certain positions.
Assists with administrative support related to recruiting activities such as marketing, search, screening and interview-related tasks in addition to other related administrative work.
Assists with the sourcing of candidates for positions.
Conducts reference checks on applicants and assist with preparing requests for background checks.
Assists managers on advertising vacancies, to include development of vacancy announcements and qualifications standards, e.g., definition of specialized experience, development of crediting plans, and questions for automated staffing systems.
Responds to applicant's inquiries regarding Federal employment status of specific positions
Maintains all recruiting records.
Counsels new employees as needed on matters such as Benefits election options available.
Counsels exiting employees on separation options available.
Assists in on-boarding process of new employees (including but not limited to establishing employee electronic official personnel file(s)); and off-boarding of exiting employees.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Human Resources preferred. Minimum one year experience in a recruiting or recruiting support role. Must have strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
