As the leader of a QA project, the Software Test Technician is responsible for implementing (Multimedia Games Inc.) quality processes. Works closely with Production and Development to deliver consumer based Casino style games that exhibit high quality game play and execution. The Test Technician analyzes the project’s quality requirements through project documentation and discussions with Producers and Developers, and then develops Quality Assurance Plans and Test Cases. Applies effective QA methodologies and best practices to help ensure the highest possible quality with maximum efficiency. Including the use of automated testing for load and stress testing.
Works with the QA Analyst to plan the testing strategies and tactics on a project and to determine appropriate team size and equipment requirements according to project requirements.
Works with the QA Analyst to create a comprehensive, effective and detailed Quality Plan and Test Procedures.
Maintains integrity of the defect tracking database.
Regularly communicates project status to QA Analyst and Development teams. Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1 to 2 years experience in a QA role. Ability to generate Test Plans, Test Reports, automated test cases, and manual test cases. Strong Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Ability to interpret, analyze and evaluate a variety of technical instructions and documents. Includes participation in code reviews and defect root cause analysis. Basic understanding of C++ coding language.
Comprehensive understanding of Windows Operating Systems and Computers.
Excellent communication skills including but not limited to the ability to communicate effectively with developers and other employees including executives; ability to write detailed reports and correspondence, etc.
Ability to define problems, recommend solutions, and implement those solutions in a resourceful manner.
Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work as a team player and interact with other department personnel.
Ability to deal successfully with change.
Must be a proven self-starter.
Must be able to travel from time to time.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum two years experience in a leadership, supervisory or management role.
Associate or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in a technical field, from a two or four year college or technical school; or minimum of two years gaming industry or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to utilize computer-based applications and tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, FTP, etc.
