We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our SaaS operations team in our Campbell office.

As part of the Ops team and reporting to the Operations Manager , the Sr. DBA will support daily operational tasks and maintain all YouSendIt databases hosted in multiple data centers.


Management of our production MySQL databases

Database deployment and maintenance

Monitor and ensure high-availability and optimal performance for the databases

Implementing redundancy, replication, scripting, schema changes, back up and availability strategies

Manage, monitor and performance tune production databases in our 24x7x365 environment

Provide on-call and scheduled support for the production service including off-hours support as needed

Develop and maintain operational tools and procedures

Create and update technical documentation

Work closely with the Engineering and the Product Support teams to directly manipulate data for schema design and query optimization questions; and resolve any service issues

Assist the Engineering team through analysis, design, programming, testing and deployment

Support development, QA and production environments

Test and apply patches and updates including service packs

On-going process improvements and applying best practices for the environment

Assist with other projects such as database archiving, backup, replication and restoration

Respond to escalated trouble calls

Monitor database performance

Implement performance tuning as well as manage user accounts, permissions, and rotational 24x7 On-Call Support


A b achelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience


A minimum of 7 years of DBA production experience with MySQL in a 24x7x365 environment

Solid knowledge of Linux/UNIX and CentOS

Extensive knowledge of server systems, storage arrays, fabric configurations, SAN, NAS iSCSI, and Fibre Channel (FC)

Networking protocols, clustering, replication, encryption, tape/disk drives, as well as backup and restore technologies

Large-scale storage backup, disaster recovery, and business resumption

Scripting (Shell, PHP, Perl) including usage of common utilities and regular expressions

SQL Server and Oracle administration

MySQL Enterprise Monitor, Nagios and/or Centreon

OLTP and data warehousing approaches to storing data

Administering, configuring, and troubleshooting multi-tiered production environments

Familiarity with security protocols and practices

On-going support for Business Continuity and High-Availability



Strong sense of operations and customer support

Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience is a must
