McNeil, a member of Johnson & Johnson Family of companies is currently recruiting for an EH&S Senior Manager for Las Piedra Manufacturing site, located in Las Piedras, PR.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, ROLAIDS® antacid products, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants.

The EH&S Senior Manager will plan and develop strategic and tactical plans, execute and direct projects and programs designed to ensure the attainment of the company's goals relative to EHS outcomes. The Senior Manager will manage a team for single facility. The Senior Manager will partner with company management to develop and deploy an integrated Environmental Health & Safety Strategy that achieves stated goals for employee safety and wellness. He/she will drive, monitor and report progress against these strategies and goals. This position will manage Environmental Health and Safety processes and programs and must demonstrate a broad knowledge of industrial hygiene, air, water, waste, ergonomics, machine guard, lockout, process safety management, behavior program, etc. The role will provide an depth technical knowledge of EH&S and EH&S compliance standards and issues.

The Senior Manager will be in charge of strategizing and driving projects to achieve J&J EH&S corporate goal. This role will provide high-level technical expertise in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental support for McNeil Las Piedras sight. He/she will guide senior management and EH&S local staff in the development of solutions to critical safety, industrial hygiene and environmental issues. The Senior Manager will be responsible for establishing programs objectives and oversight in these areas with the support of the Center of Excellence Manager. The role will complete annual self-assessment against J&J EHS -Std. /guidelines and executes the tactical plan to be in compliance with local regulation and J&J guideline. He/she will oversee periodic reports and metrics as required. This person will ensure that all pertinent documentation is prepared, maintained, and submitted in a timely manner to regulatory agencies, J&J, McNeil and others according to the requirements. This person will facilitate involvements of Champion/ System Based Owners, EHS committee, Emergency Response Team and management as required. The role will approve SOP and relevant quality documentation.

The Senior Manager will act as the SME and be responsible for review and sign off of relevant documentation per the function (i.e. mfg) as required by the quality process in the execution of the relevant work. This person will follow all guidelines established in the organization for the continuous improvement of the ISO 14001 system. This position will coordinate to perform industrial hygiene survey tests (noise, chemicals, and oxygen levels). The Manger will review the regulatory documents as the different permits or form (FORM-R report, SARA 311/312, Air Emissions Survey, etc.) to be signed by the top management at the site. He/she will facilitate/conduct regulatory compliance audits, internal assessment in conformance with the Standard and regulatory compliance as needed and assure execution of action plans. This person will develop the technical capabilities of the EHS Specialist professionals. He/she will drive Continuous Improvement at site level, through KPIs and Benchmarking and utilize Process Excellence (Lean and Six-Sigma) tools to enable business results.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required. A focused degree in EH&S is highly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of overall experience in the EH&S is required. A minimum of 6 years leading teams or direct people management is required. Experience leading an EH&S program in a manufacturing environment is required. Knowledge of local and federal Environmental, Health & Safety regulations is required. Knowledge of LOTO and machine guarding and Industrial Hygiene is required. Knowledge EPA, JCA, OSHA, ISO Standard is required. Knowledge of GMP is an asset. This position will require a sense of urgency, self awareness and adaptability. This person will need to be results and performance driven with a strong grasp of bigger picture. The role will be based in Las Piedra, PR and will require 20% travel.
