Heartland Hospice is searching for experienced Art Therapists. This PRN (as needed) contract opportunity offers much flexibility and the opportunity to provide therapy in the setting patients feel most comfortable in, the home. This is a contract as needed opportunity that offers you the opportunity to share your excellent therapy skills with a schedule that you can control. You will be providing therapy to patients in Racine, Kenosha and Walworth counties.
As a Art Therapist you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and providing medically prescribed art therapy that creates a safe environment, addresses the holistic needs of patients, and offers a means of expression for patients and caregivers that positively impacts the patients’ health status, feeling of wellness, and/or quality of life.

Educational Requirements: Masters Degree in Art Therapy from an accredited institution; Certified as a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) Position Requirements:
Knowledge of principles, concepts and methodology of art therapy appropriate for chronically-terminally ill patients and bereaved caregivers. Ability to work with a wide array of visual art mediums. Ability to develop rapport, create a safe environment, and a mode of expression through art for patients and families.
