Compensation

Computer Associate (TS) I $48,647 - $61,594
Computer Associate (TS) II $58,358 - $74,547
Computer Associate (TS) III $69,644 - $93,011

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the Computer Associate (TS) is responsible for maintaining the Information Systems desktop and infrastructure environment for MTA Bus Depots.

Provide technical assistance to computer system users.

Resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from a remote location.

Provide assistance related to the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, MS Office Suite, electronic mail and operating systems.

Troubleshoot all information systems issues, including software, hardware and networks.

Responsible for installing and updating desktops, laptops, peripherals, networks and related software.

Collaborate with support contractors to resolve technical problems and ensuring that desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems, file servers, email servers, application servers and administrative systems.

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or MCSE A+; and
four (4) years of computer experience working with Windows XP, desktops/laptops and Microsoft Office Suite; or
A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

Desired Skills

Experience troubleshooting basic network, software, printing problems.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience supporting, configuring and maintaining PC hardware, printers and PC peripherals.
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, standard networking principals and fundamentals.
Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktops and laptops.
Experience installing software on desktops, laptops and servers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
