The Special Claims Support Intern will report to the Team Leader of Special Claims Support. This position will assist with daily medical & indemnity overpayments, credits, booking of overpayments, placing medical offsets, updating spreadsheets, researching & auditing claim files, communicating with claimant’s, medical providers and policyholders for required information needed to rule a claim, request an overpayment or to request additional information to assist in the settlement of disputed issues, or to take recorded statements in the full and final settlement of a claim. This position will provide backup for regular employee’s as needed.
This is a full-time summer internship and will require someone who can work at least 40 hours per week. Start and end dates will be based on availability and business need.

Auditing indemnity & medical benefits for quality assurance.
Updating data on claim files.
Communicating with internal staff, claimants, policyholders and medical providers.
Applying credits to benefits.
Assisting with Excel Spreadsheets
Assisting with research.
Issuing of overpayment letters
Providing backup for other employee’s for short periods.
Nonessential function: other duties as assigned.
Good computer skills
Good communication skills
General accounting principles
Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.
Preference may be given to those pursuing a degree in Business Administration and/or Finance.
