Responsibilities for this Position:
General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS) has an immediate opening for an Algorithm System Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services. GDAIS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various GDAIS and client technologies. The Algorithm System Engineer will be responsible for development, prototyping, analysis, and implementation of tracking, sensor netting, and target discrimination algorithms. Individuals will implement algorithms in a MATLAB prototype environment and will perform comparative data analysis to assess algorithm performance. Individual will review the content and details of technical products and acting as a technical interface to MDA will work with government counterparts on an as required basis. The successful candidate will be a member of a focused team, interfacing with peer-level team members and NT management to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.
Candidates must have experience with MATLAB and should have hands on experience with software/systems engineering to include developing new and integrating existing radar signal processing and tracking systems. Excellent written and oral communications skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
The Algorithm System Engineer requires a bachelors degree in a specialized area, field or the equivalent and at least eight to ten years of related work experience. Applicants with a masters degree and a minimum of six to eight years of related experience are also eligible.
Department of Defense secret security clearance is required time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
