Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for the patient seeking emergency care based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current PA Registered Nurse license; or eligible for immediate state license.
Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification.
Maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
Current CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) National Certification preferred.
Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within (6) months of hire and continuous recertification is required.
Completion of Dysrhythmia course within 6 months of hire if not previously obtained.
Successful completion of the Critical Care course within (1) year of hire if not previously obtained.
Successful completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and continuous recertification every year.
Two years previous Emergency Department experience required.
Able to meet physical and sensory requirements of job.
Able to successfully complete orientation of job performance.
Able to meet health standards for hospital employment.
Must be highly motivated and committed to a quality of care that emphasizes the patient first.
