Mylan Specialty, L.P. a subsidiary of Mylan, is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development, manufacturing and marketing of prescription drug products for the treatment of respiratory diseases, severe allergic reactions, anesthesia and psychiatric disorders. The Hospital Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales through the promotion of Mylan Specialty products in a prescribed manner with a focus on targeted hospitals/clinics, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other members of patient care team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops a business plan for assigned territory which clearly, accurately and efficiently describes the goals, outlines key drivers, milestones and critical steps and is consistent with Mylan Specialty’s sales plans, strategies and objectives.
Identifies major centers of use for Mylan Specialty products to develop and implement specific strategies for territory prescribers.
Establishes strong relationships, resulting in true business partnerships with key stakeholders, Health Care Providers (HCP) networks, important decision makers, and influencers at all organizational and departmental levels of each assigned account and IDN system.
Identifies, develops, maintains, and leverages relationships with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other individuals who make or influence purchasing/prescribing decisions.
Identifies and responds to obstacles to use of Mylan Specialty products. Develops and maintains mastery of product knowledge and a consultative sales approach. Continuously improves knowledge of Mylan Specialty products and competitive products. Understands and articulates the most up-to-date clinically approved studies to educate customers and handle questions/concerns about Mylan Specialty products.
Partners with the Mylan Specialty Sales/Marketing Department to maximize appropriate and effective use of selling materials and product information.
Maintains current knowledge of and strict adherence to Mylan’s Standards for Interactions with Healthcare Providers as well as all other relevant ethical standards.
Strong track record of sales success and leadership in the anesthesia markets.
Must possess strong communication, presentation and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Superior organizational and administrative skills.
Strong analytical, strategic and influencing skills.
Candidates should be flexible to learning new products and disease states over time.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3-5 years successful hospital acute care pharmaceutical sales experience (Anesthesia, ICU, OR). 10+ years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred. A combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
