The positions are located in the Washington, DC metro area and at full performance, serve as General Supply Specialist. The Purpose of these positions are to provide effective material and inventory support for an activity involving the full range of support items.
    KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • You must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.
  • Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
  • Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required.
  • Single Scope Background Investigation required.

DUTIES:
  • Review report plans and schedules to determine material support requirements.
  • Develop activity plans that identify actions, responsibilities and schedules that must be met to ensure that proper and timely support is provided.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of material support and follow up with responsible parties to assure that necessary actions are taken.
  • Identify and resolve issues relative to material support.
  • Expedite the acquisition, movement of material, review/evaluate interim support measures and initiate corrective actions in conjunction with supply, procurement, and maintenance.

For GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to conduct investigations to determine the cause of and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Ability to utilize available supply data sources to research stock numbers, part numbers and unit of issue.
  • Experience in monitoring the status of funds to stay within authorized funding levels.
  • Ability to review incoming material and coordinating receipts for accuracy and insure all discrepancies are resolved with the appropriate agency or company.
  • Or

    Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related.

    For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

    Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

    Specialized Experience at the GS 11 level:
    • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of DoD supply and inventory management, by conducting research, through numerous supply systems (GSA, MILSTRIP, DoD E-mall and/or commercial sources).
    • Knowledge of the skills and techniques necessary to understand and implement supply procedures/directives, and take the required action to implement supply operations and resolve supply management problems .
    • Ability to conduct research using the available supply data sources, to identify technical data for items of supply including, such information as stock numbers, part numbers, unit of issue, and nomenclature, etc.
    • Analyze requirements and prepare estimates of funds needed for items managed or programs/projects supported.
    • Develop, screen or revise material requirement list for assigned components and/or assemblies needed to support current and future production schedule regarding equipment maintenance and rework programs.
    • Or

      Ph.d or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

    A Top Secret security clearance is a requirement for employment; however, is not a requirement for applying.
